The Jordan Project

Overview:
The Jordan Education Coalition for ALL (JCEFA), part of the regional Arab Campaign for Education for All (ACEA) network, works to empower civil society to promote inclusive and gender-responsive education policies in Jordan. The JCEFA EOL project focuses on building the institutional and technical capacity of the Jordanian education coalition, fostering collaboration between civil society, government institutions, and regional and international stakeholders, and promoting active engagement of local communities in shaping and implementing education reforms.

Specific Objectives:

  1. Enhance the institutional and technical capacity of the Jordan Coalition for Education for All (JCEFA) to advocate for inclusive and gender-responsive education policies.
  2. Strengthen collaboration between CSOs, government institutions, and regional and international stakeholders to improve education policy planning and monitoring.
  3. Increase the engagement of local communities in education advocacy planning and implementation processes led by the coalition.

Key Activities:

  • Technical and administrative training for JCEFA members in advocacy, policy analysis, project management, and financial accountability.
  • Research and documentation of disparities in access to education, focusing on refugee children, children with disabilities, girls, and children from poor or rural communities.
  • Partnerships with organizations supporting children with disabilities and marginalized groups, developing inclusive educational materials and promoting accessible school infrastructure.
  • Structured dialogues with local communities, government authorities, and international stakeholders to inform policies and monitor reforms.
  • Knowledge exchange with regional and international networks to strengthen advocacy skills and evidence-based decision-making.

Expected Results:

  • Strengthened technical, institutional, and advocacy capacity of JCEFA and its members.
  • Greater civil society participation in education policy planning and monitoring, leading to more inclusive and accountable reforms.
  • Increased focus on addressing barriers faced by marginalized groups, including refugee children and children with disabilities.
  • Improved collaboration between civil society, government, and international stakeholders, supporting systemic improvements in education quality and equity.

These sustainable results will contribute to the long-term advancement of inclusive and equitable education in Jordan, ensuring that all children have access to quality learning opportunities.

The current project is part of the Education Out Loud extension phase 2024–2026.
